China GDP Grows 8.1% in 2021, Exceeds Target of 6%

China GDP grew 8.1% in 2021, exceeding government target of over 6% and recording the highest growth rate since 2011. In 2020 and along the effects of COVID-19 pandemic, China economy grew at only 2.2%. China also announced a trade surplus of $676 billion, a 29% increase from $523 billion in 2020. (GDP ~ Gross Domestic Product)

China, 2nd largest economy with $14.3 trillion GDP
China is the world’s 2nd largest economy with $14.3 trillion GDP, while United States is the largest economy with $21.4 trillion GDP. Japan is the 3rd largest economy with $5.08 trillion GDP. The top 3 largest economy in 2020 – United States, China and Japan combined for a total GDP of $40.78 trillion, representing 46.54% of global GDP.
