Forbes has released the billionaire list for 2022, reporting 2,668 billionaires with $12.7 trillion of wealth, down from 2,755 billionaires and $13.1 trillion of wealth in 2021. There are 236 new billionaires and 329 billionaires dropped out from the list in 2022. Of the 2,668 billionaires, only 86 are below the age of 40 and 327 are women, with majority of women inheriting their wealth. United States has the most billionaires with 735 billionaires while China has 607 billionaires (includes Hong Kong & Macau). India has the 3rd most with 166 billionaires, Germany is 4th most with 134 billionaires and Russia is 5th most with 83 billionaires. The richest man in the world is Elon Musk (United States) with $219 billion and the richest man in Asia is Mukesh Ambani (India) with $90.7 billion. Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is the richest women in the world (France, L’Oréal) with $74.8 billion. The youngest billionaire is Kevin David Lehmann age 19 (Germany, Drugstore) with $2.4 billion.
