Citi Private Bank North Asia Head Rudolf Hitsch will be retiring after 24 years in private banking, with the last 12 years in Citibank (2010 to 2022) & the previous 12 years in Goldman Sachs (1998 to 2010). At Citi Private Bank, Rudolf Hitsch (North Asia Head) leads the North Asia private banking business, managing teams based in Hong Kong & Singapore, and contributing to majority of the private bank’s business in Asia-Pacific. In 2010, Rudolf Hitsch joined Citi Private Bank as Market Head and relaunched the Private Bank offshore Mainland China business. He built trust with senior management to open up business travel into Mainland China, led by example to build a team culture of tight risk control and high performance, and hired young bankers and developed them into some of Wall Street’s most productive and responsible offshore China bankers. In 2017, he took on the added responsibility of Taiwan and in 2018, he was appointed Citi Private Bank North Asia Head. Rudolf Hitsch started his private banking career at Goldman Sachs in 1998 and became one of Goldman Sachs top private banker for the Mainland China market in just a few years. In 2006, he was appointed as Goldman Sachs Private Banking Team Head. Rudolf Hitsch, Academic Achievements
Rudolf Hitsch graduated from University of Natural Resources & Life Sciences, Vienna (Australia) with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 1991, and Doctor of Philosophy in 1995. Between 1992 to 1994, Rudolf Hitsch also completed a Bachelor of Arts (Chinese) in Beijing Language and Culture University. In 1998, Rudolf Hitsch completed his Master of Business Administration (Finance, General) at New York University Stern School of Business.
