China former President from 1993 to 2003 Jiang Zemin has died at age 96 (1926-2022). Jiang Zemin is one of China most prominent Chinese leader including Mao Zedong & Deng Xiaoping, passing on the leadership in 2003 to Hu Jintao (2003 to 2013) who then passed on the leadership to the now China President Xi Jinping – leading China the 2nd largest economy in the world with $17.7 trillion GDP & 1.41 billion population. China Communist Party is the ruling party of China, with Mao Zedong winning the Chinese Civil War against Kuomintang in 1949. In 1992, Jiang Zemin officially introduced the “socialist market economy” to open up China economy. As President of China, Jiang Zemin leadership reign includes the return of Hong Kong from United Kingdom in 1997, Macau from Portugal in 1999, and joining the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in 2001.
