Bain & Company Appoints Sebastien Lamy as Co-Head of Asia-Pacific Private Equity Practice, Succeeds Andrew Tymms & to Lead Private Equity APAC business with Kiki Yang

Top management consulting firm Bain & Company has appointed Sebastien Lamy as the Co-Head of Asia-Pacific Private Equity practice, succeeding Andrew Tymms and to lead the Private Equity APAC business alongside Co-Head Kiki Yang. Bain & Company: “With over 20 years of consulting experience in the company, most of which in the Asia Pacific, Sebastien specializes in growth and portfolio strategy, fund strategy, M&A advisory and due diligence, and innovation. Most recently, he was leader of the region’s Infrastructure Investing practice. Prior to joining Bain & Company , Sebastien was managing director of Singapore-based Keppel Corporation, where he led group strategy, M&A, technology and innovation. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and an undergraduate degree from the HEC School of Management.” In his new role as Co-Head of Asia-Pacific Private Equity practice, Sebastien Lamy will continue to be based in Tokyo.

Sebastien Lamy, Co-Head of Asia-Pacific Private Equity practice
Sebastien Lamy is the co-head of our Asia-Pacific Private Equity practice, which he has helped develop and grow for the past 15 years. Sebastien has spent more than 20 years with us, most of which in Asia Pacific. He is now based in Tokyo, and he has worked across Southeast Asia, Greater China, Australia, Japan and Korea. He specializes in growth and portfolio strategy, fund strategy, M&A advisory and due diligence, and innovation. Over the past few years he has been leading our infrastructure investing work in Asia Pacific. He also spent several years as managing director of the Singapore-based Keppel Corporation, where he led group strategy, M&A, technology and innovation. Actively engaged in the non-profit sector, Sebastien is currently on the board of the Community Foundation of Singapore. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and an undergraduate degree from the HEC School of Management.
Kiki Yang, Bain & Company Co-Head of Asia-Pacific Private Equity practice
Kiki Yang is the co-head of our Asia-Pacific Private Equity practice. She has more than 15 years of consulting and investment banking experience, working extensively with multinational and local clients to address their most pressing strategic issues. Kiki holds deep expertise in due diligence, strategy and operational and organizational improvement. She has led numerous diligence efforts for global, regional and local private equity funds in industries including internet and technology, industrial goods and services, consumer products, and retail. Kiki has led a number of major fund strategy projects with leading private equity funds in Asia focusing on fund positioning, differentiation, fundraising, organization and governance issues. She has also led a number of cases with private equity portfolio companies focusing on topics such as post-merger integration, operational improvement, commercial excellence, digital, and overall corporate growth strategies. She holds an MBA, with honors, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Hamilton College. She speaks fluent Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Andrew Tymms, Bain & Company Partner
Andrew Tymms is a member of our Private Equity and M&A practices. He has more than 23 years’ experience with Bain across the UK, Europe, Africa and Australia, focused on supporting private equity and alternative investment firms across the investment value-chain. His deep experience in all aspects of private equity and M&A include Deal sourcing and screening, Integrated (commercial and operational) due diligence, Post-acquisition (growth and performance acceleration, developing and driving value creation plans (VCPs), post-merger integration (PMI), Exit planning and sell-side support, and PE & alternative investment firm strategy development. Andrew has led more than 300 commercial reviews, M&A and both post-acquisition and portfolio company projects for leading private equity investors and hedge funds. He also holds significant industry experience in tech, media and telecom (TMT), financial services, business services, retail, healthcare and digital. Andrew is an honors graduate of the University of Melbourne in electrical and electronic engineering.
