Standard Chartered Private Bank has appointed Peter Tung as the new Regional Head of Private Banking Greater China & North Asia, Kin Chan (2022 August) & Ivan Ching as Hong Kong Private Banking Market Heads and Chris Tong as Head of Investment Advisory for Greater China & North Asia. Peter Tung joined Standard Chartered in 2022 August, and has almost 30 years of experience (Private Banking, UHNWs, Family Office) including at Morgan Stanley, UBS & DBS Private Bank (Head of Greater China Region Private Bank & Treasures Private Clients). At Morgan Stanley, Peter grew the Private Wealth Management business covering UHNW & family office clients, and championed the ‘Billionaire” coverage teams at UBS (UHNW Region Head of Greater China). Kin Chan had also joined Standard Chartered in August 2022 as Standard Chartered Private Banking Market Head Hong Kong, and has over 20 years of experience including Prudential Securities, Solomon Smith Barney, Citi, UBS, Nomura & DBS Private Bank (Manage team of 60 as Managing Director & Senior Market Head for Greater China International & NRI). Ivan Ching appointed as the new Standard Chartered Private Banking Market Head Hong Kong, had rejoined Standard Chartered also in 2022 August and has more than 30 years of experience including at UBS, Credit Suisse & BNP Paribas (Market Leader, China). Chris Tong, Senior Investment Advisor at Standard Chartered for 5 years and appointed as the new Head Investment Advisory of Private Banking Greater China & North Asia, has more than 18 years of experience including at HSBC, Barclays, Credit Suisse & Citi Private Bank.

Peter Tung, Standard Chartered Regional Head of Private Banking Greater China & North Asia
Standard Chartered appoints Peter Tung as Regional Head, Private Banking, Greater China & North Asia (GCNA), based in Hong Kong. Peter is responsible for leading the team of relationship managers to grow Standard Chartered’s private banking business in the GCNA region. He reports to Mary Huen, CEO, Hong Kong, and Raymond Ang, Global Head, Private & Affluent Clients. Peter is also a member of the Hong Kong Management Committee.
Peter is a seasoned private banker with close to 30 years of experience managing UHNW and family offices in Hong Kong and Mainland China. He honed his career building teams to grow the Private Wealth Management business in Morgan Stanley covering UHNW/family office clients, and championing the ‘Billionaire” coverage teams as the UHNW Region Head of Greater China in UBS. Peter joined Standard Chartered from DBS Hong Kong, where he was Head of Greater China Region Private Bank and Treasures Private Clients. He graduated with major in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and further holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the Columbia Business School.
Kin Chan, Standard Chartered Private Banking Market Head Hong Kong
Kin Chan joined Standard Chartered Private Bank in Hong Kong on 1 August 2022 as Market Head, Private Banking, Hong Kong, reporting to Peter Tung. Kin has over 20 years’ banking experience in Hong Kong, having worked in leading financial institutions and banks including Prudential Securities, Solomon Smith Barney, Citi, UBS and Nomura. He spent the last five plus years with DBS Private Bank and was most recently leading a team of 60 as MD and Senior Market Head for Greater China International and NRI. Kin is a graduate of the St. Paul’s School in London.
Ivan Ching, Standard Chartered Private Banking Market Head Hong Kong
Ivan Ching is appointed Market Head, Private Banking, Hong Kong, reporting to Peter Tung. Ivan re-joined Standard Chartered on 15 August 2022, bringing with him 30 years of banking experience. Ivan honed his career in private banking at UBS and Credit Suisse and was most recently Market Leader, China at BNP Paribas.
Chris Tong, Standard Chartered Head Investment Advisory of Private Banking Greater China & North Asia
Chris Tong is appointed Head, Investment Advisory, Private Banking, Greater China & North Asia. Based in Hong Kong, Chris reports to Peter Tung and Vic Malik, Global Head, Structured Solutions & Investment Advisory. He leads the investment advisory team to offer competitive investment solutions to clients. Before taking up this role, Chris was a Senior Investment Advisor for the last 5 years, covering key clients in the Greater China region and actively engaged in building out the Bank’s investment capabilities. As a veteran in the private banking industry with over 18 years of experience, Chris held various investment and capital market advisory roles in HSBC, Barclays, Credit Suisse and Citi Private Bank.
