Hong Kong Exchange Hires Goldman Sachs Matthew Cheong as Head of Structured Products & Platform Business Development

Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX) has hired Goldman Sachs Matthew Cheong as Head of Structured Products & Platform Business Development to lead Hong Kong Exchange (HKEX) structured products team and drive initiatives to develop the platform business (including supporting the equities & derivatives offering). Matthew Cheong joins from Goldman Sachs where he was the Managing Director of Global Markets for Equities, and prior at JP Morgan and Morgan Stanley, focusing on developing trading systems & technology. Matthew Cheong holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a Master of Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, both in the United States. Matthew Cheong will report to HKEX Co-Chief Operating Officer & Head of Equities Wilfred Yiu, and work closely with the HKEX Sales and Marketing teams to support market outreach and engagement and collaborate with the Operations and IT Divisions on the development and implementation of the platforms for relevant HKEX products.
