HSBC has hired UBS Co-Head of Global Family & Institutional Wealth APAC Tommy Leung as Head of HSBC Global Private Banking South Asia (19/10/23), succeeding Philip Kunz. Tommy Leung leaves UBS after nearly 22 years, having joined UBS as Director (US Credit Strategist) in United States in 2001 and relocating to UBS London (UK) in 2009 as Managing Director (Head of European Credit Strategy). In 2011, Tommy Leung relocated from London to UBS Singapore, taking on the role of Head of Credit Distribution APAC for UBS Investment Bank. In 2017, Tommy switched from Investment Banking to Wealth Management, taking on the role of UBS Head of Active Advisory. In 2021, Tommy Leung was appointed as UBS Co-Head of Global Family & Institutional Wealth APAC. Tommy Leung graduated from the University of Chicago with a degree in Political Science. Based in Singapore, Tommy Leung will report to Siew Meng Tan (Regional Head of HSBC Global Private Banking, Asia-Pacific), and Kai Zhang (HSBC Head of Wealth & Personal Banking, South Asia).
