The World Investor Week 2023 (WIW) is taking place between 2nd to 8th October 2023, highlighting the importance of conducting due diligence on investments, with 8 key topics including never stop learning, power of compound growth, diversification, having an emergency fund, be skeptical of high guaranteed returns, losing more than you can invest, ESG investing, crypto assets can be volatile & speculative with platforms possibly lacking protections for investors. United States SEC: This marks the 7th year of WIW (World Investor Wee), a global effort promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) that brings together regulators on six continents to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and investor protection. As in previous years, the SEC is serving as the national coordinator in the U.S., working with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), Securities Investor Protection Corporation, National Futures Association, and North American Securities Administrators Association. Together with these organizations, the SEC’s Office of Investor Education and Advocacy (OIEA) issued a joint Investor Bulletin today to promote WIW’s key initiatives. World Investor Week is a global campaign promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to raise awareness about the importance of investor education and protection. During October 2-8, 2023, the Securities and Exchange Commission (national coordinator), Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, National Futures Association, Securities Investor Protection Corporation, North American Securities Administrators Association and supporters are working together with interested government agencies, localities, and organizations to promote World Investor Week 2023 (WIW 2023) and its goals in the United States.
