A Pablo Picasso painting Femme à la Montre had been sold for $139.4 million at a Sotheby’s auction in New York, and is the 2nd highest price recorded for a Pablo Picasso painting. The record price is Les Femmes d’Alger which was sold for $179.3 million by Christie’s in 2015. Femme à la Montre was created in 1932, depicting Pablo Picasso’s French lover & model Marie-Therese Walter. The Pablo Picasso painting sold is part of the $406.4 million sales from the late philanthropist Emily Fisher Landua’s collection.
