HSBC Private Bank has hired Credit Suisse Edith Wong as Head of UHNW Segment for North Asia (Jan 2024). Edith Wong has more than 17 years of private banking & UHNW experience, joining from Credit Suisse where she was the China Market Team Leader, and was previously at JP Morgan (Team Head, China UHNW) and UBS (Executive Director, Regional Head of Client Development & Client Coverage, Global UHNW APAC). UHNW refers to Ultra high net worth individuals, typically with net worth of $30 million or $50 million & above. In November 2023, HSBC Private Bank hired UBS & Credit Suisse private banking veteran Gautam Anand as Global Coordinator for Global India, MENA & Europe for South Asia. Gautam Anand joins from UBS (11 months), and was at Credit Suisse (Head NRI Team / NRI ~ Non-Resident Indian) for more than 9 years. Prior to Credit Suisse, Gautam Anand was with ANZ (Head of Affluent Banking, Head of NRI APAC) and ABN AMRO Bank (Head of Southeast Asia, International Wealth Management). In September 2023, HSBC hired Deutsche Bank Hong Kong CEO Lok Yim as HSBC Regional Head of Global Private Banking APAC (Designate 1/11/23, Official 1/1/24), succeeding Siew Meng Tan who is retiring after 20 years in HSBC (7 years in private banking) and a 40 years career in banking.

29th November 2023 – HSBC Private Bank has hired UBS & Credit Suisse private banking veteran Gautam Anand as Global Coordinator for Global India, MENA & Europe for South Asia. Gautam Anand joins from UBS (11 months), and was at Credit Suisse (Head NRI Team / NRI ~ Non-Resident Indian) for more than 9 years. HSBC Hires Deutsche Bank Hong Kong CEO Lok Yim as Regional Head of Global Private Banking APAC, Succeeds Siew Meng Tan Who is Retiring after 20 Years in HSBC & 40 Years Career in Banking
14th September 2023 – HSBC has hired Deutsche Bank Hong Kong CEO Lok Yim as HSBC Regional Head of Global Private Banking APAC (Designate 1/11/23, Official 1/1/24), succeeding Siew Meng Tan who is retiring after 20 years in HSBC (7 years in private banking) and a 40 years career in banking. Siew Meng Tan will remain as advisor to HSBC Global Private Banking APAC until 31st March 2024. Lok Yim has around 30 years of private banking & capital markets experience, joining from Deutsche Bank after 16 years (last role CEO Hong Kong), and previously leading Deutsche Bank Wealth Management and International Private Banking franchises in Asia & Emerging Markets. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Lok Yim was with Citigroup for more than 11 years. Lok Yim has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge. Based in Hong Kong, Yim will report to Annabel Spring, HSBC CEO Global Private Banking and Wealth on a functional basis, and Kai Zhang, HSBC Head of Wealth and Personal Banking, South Asia on an entity basis. HSBC Global Private Banking Asia currently manages around $151 billion in invested assets.
