Leading global consulting EY has appointed Jonathan Zhao as EY Regional Managing Partner for APAC Financial Services succeeding Gary Hwa (1/7/24). Jonathan Zhao has more than 30 years of experience on advising financial institutions including 23 years at EY, and prior, was at KPMG (United States) & Manulife (Canada). Jonathan Zhao is currently EY Asia-Pacific Insurance Leader and EY Asia-Pacific Financial Services Strategy & Transactions Leader. Jonathan is responsible for driving EY services for insurance clients across Asia-Pacific, covering all service lines with integrated teams of more than 1,500 insurance professionals in over 20 countries. He has developed and led EY Asia-Pacific Actuarial Services teams, which are now the largest and most integrated actuarial services among the Big Four in Asia-Pacific, with more than 400 professionals across seven countries. He has also led many multibillion-dollar insurance M&A transactions in the Region. Jonathan earned a bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Actuarial Science with Honors from Western University.
