Tencent WeBank has received approval from China authority (Shenzhen office of the National Financial Regulatory Administration) to setup a Hong Kong subsidiary with $150 million, with WeBank to provide services for the Belt & Road initiatives countries & regions. WeBank Co., Ltd. (“WeBank”) is a digital bank launched in 2014 in China. WeBank also strives to expand the scope of services, creating a business sustainable digital inclusive finance model. WeBank continues to operate under compliance and regulations and conduct risk management strictly under applicable laws and regulations.
