Big 4 audit firm PwC has announced the appointment of Daniel Li as PwC Chairman of China & APAC (1/7/24), succeeding Raymund Chao who has retired (30/6/24). Daniel Li has been with PwC for more than 30 years. Daniel Li, PwC Chairman of China & APAC – Daniel Li is the Chairman of PwC Asia Pacific and China, the first leader from Chinese mainland to lead one of the Big Four firms in China. Daniel has served PwC China for over 30 years, having joined as part of the firm’s first recruits of local Mainland China new graduates in 1993. Throughout his tenure, he has exemplified dedication and expertise, leading to his admission as partner in 2004. As an assurance partner, Daniel has consistently demonstrated his extensive knowledge and experience in navigating the complexities of IPOs, M&As, and inbound and outbound transactions for a diverse range of MNCs, POEs and SOEs. Daniel was appointed as the Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers Zhong Tian LLP in 2015. Under his guidance, PwC Zhong Tian has grown and always been the leading firm in Mainland China, according to the annual ranking of CPA firms by the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA). Daniel is deeply committed to giving back to society, advancing the profession and supporting the social and economic progress of China. He is a member of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Chinese National Accounting Information Standardisation Technical Committee member, and Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China CPA Examination Committee member. He was also a member of the Shanghai Committee of CPPCC and Vice President of the CICPA. Daniel is a Senior Practice Member of the CICPA. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Daniel received the prestigious National Advanced Accountant Award from the MoF in 2015, making history as the first professional from a Big Four firm to be bestowed this honour. This accolade reflects his exceptional achievements, resolute dedication and profound impact on the industry. By leveraging his expertise and leadership, Daniel will lead PwC China to deliver our purpose of building trust in society and solving important problems. Based in Shanghai, Daniel is a proud father of two and an ardent supporter of Arsenal Football Club. When he has the time, he likes getting on his bike exploring the wonders of nature.
