France billionaire Peugeots family has hired ex-UBS & Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan European Private Equity Head Jean-Charles Douin as CEO of $2.3 billion listed family investment group Peugeots Invest. Peugeot Invest is an investment company listed on Euronext and is majority-owned by Établissements Peugeot Frères. Through its Peugeot 1810 subsidiary, Peugeot Invest is one of the leading shareholders in Stellantis and Forvia, and it follows a minority and long-term investment strategy. Peugeot Invest has shareholdings in listed companies (such as LISI and SPIE), unlisted companies (such as International SOS and Rothschild & Co), co-investments (such as ARCHIMED and JAB Holding) and investment funds. Peugeot Invest: “Jean-Charles Douin, 46, brings to the role 20 years’ experience in private equity. He is joining Peugeot Invest after 16 years at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan where he headed up private equity activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He previously worked at CapVest (2005–2008), a pan-European mid-cap private equity fund, and UBS Investment Bank (2003–2005), where he was a financial analyst in the consumer goods sector. Jean-Charles Douin has spent his entire professional career in London. He is a graduate of the prestigious business school HEC Paris. Jean-Charles Douin will take office no later than 28 October 2024. Until that date, Nicolas Huet, permanent representative of Établissements Peugeot Frères to Peugeot Invest’s Board of Directors, will serve as acting CEO of Peugeot Invest, in close collaboration with its Board of Directors.”
