Leading private equity firm Blackstone ($1 trillion AUM) has announced to buy 80% of Burstone Pan-European Logistics portfolio for $1.1 billion (EUR 1.02 billion) at 5.6% net asset yield. Burstone is listed on South Africa Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Announcement: “Strategic partnership with funds managed by affiliates of Blackstone Inc. (Blackstone) on the Group’s Pan-European Logistics (PEL) portfolio (PEL Portfolio) launching Burstone’s European funds and asset management strategy (further detail provided in part B of this announcement). The strategic partnership will look to further aggregate industrial and logistics properties across Burstone’s core European markets. Burstone retains a 20% co-investment in PEL and asset management of the PEL Portfolio. €1,022 million headline price for PEL, representing a 5.6% net initial asset yield. Circa €250 million of immediate cash proceeds to Burstone … … The PEL Portfolio is valued in aggregate at €1,055,051,000 as at 1 June 2024 and comprises 32 logistics properties located in seven jurisdictions across Europe, including the core countries of Germany, France and the Netherlands where the majority of the portfolio is situated.” Burstone Group – Investec Property Fund has rebranded as the Burstone Group.
