Switzerland EFG Bank has appointed ex-Credit Suisse Hong Kong Vice-Chairman Urs Buchmann as Vice-Chairman of Regional Asia Advisory Board, and ex-Julius Baer India Executive Chairman & CEO Ashish Gumashta as Member of Regional Asia Advisory Board. EFG (16/10/24): “EFG Bank AG is today announcing the appointment of Dr. Urs Buchmann as Vice Chairman and Ashish Gumashta as a member of its Regional Asia Advisory Board, effective immediately. With their deep knowledge of the Asia Pacific and Global South Asia markets, Dr. Urs Buchmann and Ashish Gumashta will provide crucial guidance to help shape the bank’s sustainable and profitable growth strategy in this key strategic region. EFG is further strengthening its Regional Asia Advisory Board with the appointment of two industry veterans. Dr. Urs Buchmann, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board, brings with him over three decades of experience in Greater China. He most recently served as Vice-Chairman of Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, driving the development of Credit Suisse’s activities in Greater China and other markets in the region, including Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Bangladesh and Mongolia.Ashish Gumashta has 30 years of experience with a focus on the Indian market, where he previously served as Managing Director of Strategic Initiatives at Motilal Oswal and as the Executive Chairman & CEO of Julius Baer, India.”
