Citi Global Head of Private Bank Ida Liu has resigned after a 18-year Citi career & 3 years as Global Head of Citi Private Bank. Ida Liu has 24 years experience in investment banking & private banking at Citi, Merrill Lynch & BT Wolfensohn (now Deutsche Bank), joining Citi Private Bank in 2007 & held senior roles including as Head of Citi Private Bank Fashion, Media & Entertainment Group, Head of Asian Clients Group, Head of New York, Head of North America & Global Head of Citi Private Bank. In 2021 April, Citi announced the appointment Ida Liu as the new Global Head of Private Banking (Citi Private Bank) and to exit 13 markets for Citi’s consumer businesses across Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The best is yet to come!” In 2024 September, Citigroup sold Citi Wealth trust administration & fiduciary services business with $70 billion AUA & more than 2,000 UHNW client relationships to professional service provider JTC. Citi Trust operates in 7 trust jurisdictions, New York, Delaware, South Dakota, Jersey, Singapore, Switzerland & the Bahamas. In 2024 May, Citigroup has appointed Marc Luet to lead the new combined Japan, Asia North & Australia Group, with the new combined group comprising of Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, New Zealand, South Korea & Taiwan. In March 2024, Citigroup appointed Japan Cluster & Banking Head Marc Luet as Citi North & Australia Cluster & Banking Head succeeding Angel Ng who is retiring after 26 years at Citigroup. Angel Ng had joined Citigroup in 1998, and held numerous senior leadership roles including Citi Hong Kong & Macau CEO and Head of APAC Global Wealth Management. In 2023 September, Angel Ng was appointed as Citi North & Australia Cluster & Banking Head.

Citi Global Head of Private Bank, Ida Liu – Ida leads Citi’s private banking activities globally, overseeing the delivery of wealth management strategies to ultra-high net worth families and their businesses. She is also a member of the Global Wealth Management Leadership Team. Previously, Ida led the Private Bank in North America. She joined the Private Bank in 2007, launching and heading the Fashion, Retail and Entertainment Group. Prior to Citi, Ida was at Vivienne Tam, a women’s wear design house, where she was Global Head of Sales, Marketing, Public Relations and Business Development. Before that, Ida spent seven years in investment banking with Merrill Lynch’s mergers & acquisitions and technology, media and telecommunications investment banking groups in New York and Hong Kong. She started her career in mergers and acquisitions at BT Wolfensohn, now Deutsche Bank. Ida is a Young Global Leader (YGL) of the World Economic Forum and a member of The Committee of 100 (C100) and Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Additionally, Ida is a member of the Citi Women Steering Committee and serves as co-lead of Citi’s Asian Heritage Affinity. Ida holds a bachelor’s from Wellesley College and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. In 2023, Ida was named on Barron’s fourth annual list of the 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance.
