A former DBS Wealth Planning Manager Pang Yuheng (Age 28) had cheated $260,000 (S$348,000) from 4 clients by investing into fictitious (fake) fixed deposits with high interest rates from 4% to 12.88% per year due to his online gambling debts owed to licensed moneylenders. Pang Yuheng used the money to fund online gambling & invested in an asset management company. Pang Yuheng pleaded guilty to 3 counts of cheating. Pang Yuheng joined DBS in 2022 March & was terminated by DBS in 2023 June. DBS has paid S$259,000 to victims with Pang Yuheng repaying DBS $70,000. DBS incurred a S$189,000 loss.
