Singapore agribusiness Olam Group ($3 billion market value) has announced to sell 44.58% stake in Olam Agri to Saudi Arabia state-owned investment firm Saudi Agriculture & Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) for $1.78 billion at $4 billion valuation, with SALIC to own 80.01% of Olam Agri including 35.43% shareholding acquired in 2022 for $1.29 billion. Olam Group has a put option to sell the remaining 19.99% stake in Olam Agri to SALIC 3 years later for $799.6 million at 6% IRR. Olam Group is co-founded by CEO Sunny Verghese in 1989.
