Singapore Police Force: A victim lost $93 million (S$125 million) in cryptocurrency malware scam after clicking on a fake interview meeting link & running script on his laptop in 2024. $820 million (S$1.1 billion) was lost in 51,501 reported scam cases in 2024. Self-effected transfers accounted for 82.4% of reported scam cases.The top 6 scams are cryptocurrency, e-commerce, jobs, phishing, investment & fake friend call. There is a notable decrease in malware scams & social media impersonation scams due to measures by government, banks & telecommunication companies.
