United States has been reported to soon to be appointing ex-Morgan Stanley Head of Global Technology Investment Banking Michael Grimes as Head of new sovereign wealth fund. Michael Grimes was with Morgan Stanley for 30 years, and joined the United States Commerce Department as Senior Advisor in 2025 February. At Morgan Stanley, Michael Grimes led leading tech IPOs including Meta (Facebook), Uber, Airbnb, and advised Elon Musk on his $44 billion Twitter acquisition. In 2025 February, United States President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to create a new sovereign wealth fund in the next 12 months, with officials to submit a plan within 90 days on legal requirements & key recommendations for setup, funding, investment goals, structure & governance for the sovereign wealth fund.
