United States President Donald Trump family has been reported to be in discussion to acquire shares in cryptocurrency exchange Binance via direct holdings or via Donald Trump family-backed crypto-venture World Liberty Financial. Earlier in 2025 March, the United States President Donald Trump is holding the first White House cryptocurrency summit on 7th March 2025, and will be delivering remarks. The White House is United States President official residence & workplace. White House tours are free & available from Tuesday to Thursday. In 2025 February, United States President Donald Trump has announced to issue a new “Gold Card” residency at $5 million fee. The Gold Card is similar to United States Green Card, which provides permanent residency to live & work in the United States. The United States Gold Card is expected to be available for sale in 2 weeks. The $5 million fee will be used to reduce the United States debt. Earlier in 2025 February, United States President Donald Trump will allow Japan largest steelmaker Nippon Steel to invest but not the full $14.1 billion takeover of United States Steel Corporation. In 2025 January, United States President Donald Trump issued an executive order to ban Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in the United States (setup, issue & circulate), which could threaten the stability of the financial system, individual privacy & United States sovereignty. In 2024 December, United States President-elect Donald Trump agreed to a $16 million settlement in the rape defamation lawsuit against media ABC News & anchorman George Stephanopoulos. ABC News will make a $15 million charitable contribution to the future Presidential foundation & museum, $1 million for lawyer fees to Alejandro Brito and to issue statements of regret. Also in 2024 December, United States President-elect Donald Trump will look to impose 100% tariffs on BRIC alliance countries if they create a BRIC currency to bypass USD. On Binance – In 2025 March, Abu Dhabi Investment Group MGX has invested $2 billion in cryptocurrency exchange Binance, and is the first institutional investment received by Binance. In 2025 January, Binance founder & ex-CEO Changpeng Zhao with $70 billion fortune has converted Binance venture capital unit $10 billion Binance Labs into his personal family office & investment firm YZi Labs, which will invest in all-stage ventures in Web3, AI & Biotech. At YZi Labs, Changpeng Zhao termed himself an intern, his wife Ella Zhang is Head of YZi Labs, alongside a 4 member investment team including 2 ex-Goldman Sachs bankers Dana Hou & Alex Odagius. In 2024 October, Binance Head of Financial Compliance & United States citizen Tigran Gambaryan had been denied bail request (health reason) for 2nd time in Nigeria for money laundering charges. Earlier in 2024 October, Crypto exchange Binance founder & ex-CEO Changpeng Zhao with $33 billion personal fortune in a social media post on X (28/9/24) had pledged to continue investing in blockchain sector, artificial intelligence, decentralized technologies & biotechnology, will dedicate more time to funding charity & education, writing a book, and focusing on non-profit online education platform Giggle Academy. Changpeng Zhao was released from a correctional facility (United States) on 27th September 2024 after 4 months in custody (jail), completing his 4-month jail sentence in a United States California low-security prison Lompoc II started on 4th June 2024 (Tuesday). Changpeng Zhao was sentenced to 4 months jail after pleading guilty to money laundering in 2023 November, while United States prosecutors had proposed 3 years jail sentence (Federal sentencing guidelines is a maximum of 18 months). In 2023 November, Crypto exchange Binance had been fined $4.3 billion for money-laundering with founder & CEO Changpeng Zhao (Canadian) pleading guilty, resigning as CEO (21/11/23), paying $50 million of the fine, and facing less than 18 months jail. Of the $4.3 billion fine, Binance will pay a criminal fine of $1.8 billion and forfeit $2.5 billion. In the judgement, Binance had failed to report more than 100,000 suspicious transactions. With Changpeng Zhao resignation, Binance Global Head of Regional Markets Richard Teng has been appointed as Binance new CEO. Prior to joining Binance, Richard Teng was the CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Chief Regulatory Officer of the Singapore Exchange (SGX), and Director of Corporate Finance at Singapore central bank Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
