An investor group led by STG Partners Managing Partner & CIO William Chisholm has announced to buy NBA basketball team Boston Celtics majority stake at initial $6.1 billion valuation from Boston Basketball Partners.  The investor group include Rob Hale, Bruce Beal (Related Companies President) & investment firm Sixth Street ($100 billion AUM).  In 2024 July, NBA basketball team Boston Celtics ownership group (Boston Basketball Partners) is planning to sell majority shareholding of Boston Celtics in 2024 or 2025, with the team bought by Wyc Grousbeck & Steve Pagliuca-led investor group for $360 million in 2002.  Boston Celtics could be worth between $4 billion to $7 billion.  Boston Celtics was founded in 1946 as 1 of 8 original NBA teams, and holds the record for the most NBA championships won with 18 championships.  Boston Celtics greatest players include Bill Russell & Larry Bird.
