Citi Appoints Chan San-San as Head of Private Bank HNW APAC, Kelvin Goh as Head of FI Group for Investment Banking

Citi, one of the world’s largest bank, has made numerous key appointments in Singapore, appointing Chan San-San as Citi Private Bank Head of HNW Asia-Pacific and Kelvin Goh as Citi Head of Financial Institutions Group for Investment Banking. In the Asia region producing the fastest growing companies and wealth, CEOs, entrepreneurs, billionaires, UHNWs and HNWs need access to a wide-range of Wealth Management, Private Banking and Investment Banking services. In June 2021, Citi Private Bank have also announced the hiring of Faye Ong as Citi Private Bank Head of Family Office Advisory for Asia. (UHNW ~ Ultra high net worth, HNW ~ High net worth)

Chan San-San as Citi Private Bank Head of HNW Asia-Pacific
Chan San-San, in her new role as Citi Private Bank Head of HNW Asia-Pacific, will lead and drive the growth of the High Net Worth segment ($10 million to $25 million). San-San’s responsibilities include leading Citi Private Bank HNW business unit, serving HNW clients’ private banking needs with excellence and implementing a focused strategy (platform product integration and robust client acquisition).
Based in Singapore, Chan San-San will join the Global Private Bank Leadership Team as well as the Citi Global Wealth Asia Management team. San-San had joined Citi in 2003 as a Management Associate in the Global Consumer Bank.
Kelvin Goh, Citi Asia Pacific Head of Financial Institutions Group for Investment Banking
Kelvin Goh will continue as Citi Singapore Head of Corporate Finance for Investment Banking, in addition to his new appointment as Citi Asia-Pacific Head of Financial Institutions Group for Investment Banking.
Based in Singapore, his appointment is effective immediately. Kelvin had joined Citi in 2018 and has over 17 years of experience in Investment Banking.

Over the last 1 year, Citi has been making numerous key changes. In March 2021, Citi appointed Jane Fraser as the new CEO and in January 2021, created a single business unit – Citi Global Wealth, to manage all global wealth units, including Citi Private Bank. In June 2020, Citi had also created Citi Private Capital Group to provide institutional service to private investment companies and family offices.

In April 2021, Citi appointed Ida Liu as the new Global Head of Private Banking (Citi Private Bank), with Steven Lo and Fabio Fontainha as the new co-Heads of Citi Global Wealth in Asia-Pacific.
Citi also announced plans to exit 13 markets for Citi’s consumer businesses across Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and to focus on 4 key main hubs – London, UAE, Hong Kong and Singapore.

In 2019, Citi appointed Peter Babej, who was Citi’s Global Head of Financial Institution Group, as CEO of Citi Asia-Pacific. In 2019, Citi’s APAC business contributed around 20% of revenue and nearly 1/3 of Citi’s net income.
