Canada Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan with $247 billion AUM (Assets under Management) has appointed Bruce Crane as Head of Asia-Pacific (27/6/23), succeeding Ben Chan who had retired in June 2023 after 5 years at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and a 31-year career including 13 years at Malaysia $32 billion sovereign wealth fund (Khazanah Nasional). Bruce Crane had joined Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan in Singapore in 2020 as Singapore office first employee with a mandate to open and staff an office during lockdown, grow across APAC and lead the Infrastructure & Natural Resources (INR) portfolio. Bruce Crane has around 30 years of experience in public & private markets, investment banking and advisory services including at OMERS Infrastructure, UBS & Morgan Stanley. Bruce Crane will report to Chief Investment Officer Ziad Hindo, and will lead investment activities and portfolio management in APAC across Ontario Teachers’ offices in Hong Kong, Mumbai and Singapore. Ontario Teachers’ currently has more than 85 employees in Asia-Pacific.

Canada Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan appoints Bruce Crane as Head of Asia-Pacific (27/6/23). Bruce Crane
Bruce Crane leads the investment activity and portfolio management in the Asia-Pacific region for Ontario Teachers’. Bruce joined Ontario Teachers’ in 2020 as one of the initial members of the Singapore office. He held the position of Senior Managing Director, responsible for overseeing and managing infrastructure and natural resources investments in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2023, Bruce was promoted to the role of Executive Managing Director and Head of Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers’, Bruce spent nearly 10 years at OMERS Infrastructure where he most recently led their investing efforts in Asia. Previously, he was based in New York where he focused on North & South America transport and energy related investments. Prior to that, Bruce worked in Investment Banking at UBS (NYC) and Morgan Stanley (Houston) and earlier as a Field Engineer for Foster Wheeler (global). Bruce holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from the Columbia Business School.
