FTSE Russell has added retail REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) Frasers Centrepoint Trust (1/3/24: $2.9 billion market value) to the Straits Times Index (STI) and removed Philippine international spirits, whiskey & brandy company Emperador (effective 18/3/24 with next review in June 2024). The STI tracks the top 30 Singapore companies in FTSE ST All-Share. Singapore Exchange (SGX): “FTSE Russell announces that there will be one change to the constituents of the Straits Times Index (STI), following the March 2024 quarterly review. Frasers Centrepoint Trust has been added to the STI and Emperador has been removed from the index. A full list of STI constituents can be found on the website. All changes from this review take effect at the start of business on 18 March 2024 and the next review will take place in June 2024. The indexes are reviewed quarterly in accordance with the index ground rules and to facilitate the inclusion of eligible IPO stocks. FTSE Russell, SPH Media Trust and the Singapore Exchange jointly created the FTSE ST Index Series, offering a broader series of indices for the Singapore market representing various sized companies, sectors and themes, with the Straits Times Index (STI) serving as the main benchmark for Singapore’s stock market. The indices are suitable for benchmarking purposes and as tools in the creation of financial products such as institutional funds, exchange traded funds (ETFs), derivatives contracts and other index-linked products. The family includes:
- Straits Times Index (STI) - the 30 top eligible companies within the FTSE ST All-Share Index universe. The index is delivered on an intra-second streaming basis.
- FTSE ST All Share Index – comprised of the eligible Large, Mid and Small Cap companies listed on the SGX Mainboard
- FTSE ST Large & Mid Cap Index - comprised of eligible Large and Mid Cap companies listed on the SGX Mainboard
