The ex-Georgia President Mikhail Saakashvili (2004 to 2013) has been sentenced to a 9-year jail term in Georgia for embezzling $3.2 million, and is currently serving a 6-year jail sentence for abuse of power. Then-Head of Security Teimuraz Janashia was fined $832 (3,000 Lari). Mikhail Saakashvili was also Governor of Ukraine Odesa Oblast (2015 to 2016). Georgia GDP is around $30 billion and has around 3.7 million people. In 2025 February, the late Georgia billionaire Badri Patarkatsishvili (1955 – 2008) daughter & her husband has won a UK court for $40.4 million (£32.5 million) refund from buying a moth-infested UK London Horbury Villa in Notting Hill in 2019, swatting hundreds of months daily with moths flying around & in clothes, wine glasses & toothbrushes. In 2024 April, Credit Suisse Trust lawyers has filed (8/4/24) to overturn & reduce 2023 Singapore court verdict to pay former Georgia Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili $742 million. In 2023, Credit Suisse which had lost the $1.27 billion lawsuit in Singapore (May 2023), had been ordered by the Singapore court to pay $742 million instead of $926 million to avoid double payment (Bermuda court awarded more than $500 million in May 2022) to former Georgia Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili. Credit Suisse Trust Singapore had lost $1.27 billion and had failed to safeguard investments in fraud by private banker Patrice Lescaudron who committed suicide in jail in 2020. The previous settlement amount of $926 million, includes $79.4 million (May 2023).
