RBC Wealth Management has appointed 17-year veteran & Asia COO Kamran Azim as Head of Private Banking in Singapore, and hired 4 private bankers Julius Baer Jessie Heng as Team Head (Managing Director), Lombard Odier Moses Seow as Executive Director, VP Bank Derrick Yong as Director & Julius Baer Eng Huat Thio as Director. Profile – Kamran Azim is chief operating officer (COO), RBC Wealth Management Asia and also serves as deputy chief executive officer (CEO), RBC Singapore Branch. Based in Singapore, Kam plays a key role in setting and executing the strategic direction of RBC’s wealth management business in Asia. With teams across Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia, Kam leads the business management and front office functions and is committed to building lasting relationships and providing the best possible client experience. Kam joined RBC in 2007 and began his career at RBC Capital Markets where he supported the energy sales and trading desk. In 2017, he was appointed head of credit, RBC Wealth Management Asia and International where he led teams in Singapore, Hong Kong and London. Prior to this, he held various roles at RBC as part of the Capital Markets’ global credit team and Private Banking where he gained expertise in complex credit, risk management and finance. He graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor’s degree in economics and is also a member of the CFA Institute. In 2023 December, RBC Wealth Management appointed interim Head Rod Ireland as Head of Asia with the departure of RBC Wealth Management CEO Asia Terence Chow (Sept 2023), and retaining his role as RBC Capital Markets Head of Global Markets APAC. Before his interim appointment as RBC Wealth Management Head of Asia in September 2023, Rod Ireland is the RBC CEO Singapore and RBC Capital Markets Head of Global Markets APAC. 24th August 2023 – RBC Wealth Management CEO Asia Terence Chow is leaving RBC after a 16 years career (2005) including nearing 4 years as RBC Wealth Management CEO Asia. Terence Chow had started his career at RBC Capital Markets in Toronto (Canada, 2005) as an analyst (Operations Engineering), moved to New York (United States, 2007) as Manager (Operations Engineering) and thereafter Associate Director (Strategy & Planning). In 2010, Terence returned to Toronto (Canada) as Director (Head of Strategy & Execution). In 2015, Terence moved to RBC Wealth Management as Vice President (Head of Operations Canada). In February 2019, Terence was appointed as COO Asia and in November 2019, appointed as CEO Asia. RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) is the largest bank in Canada.
