Prudential Hong Kong has hired KPMG Abhishek Kumar as Chief Risk Officer & Citigroup Grace Lee as General Counsel, with both joining Prudential Hong Kong Executive Committee. Prudential started Hong Kong unit in 1964 (61 years ago). Prudential (13/3/25): “Prudential Hong Kong Limited (‘Prudential’) today announced the appointments of Abhishek Kumar as Chief Risk Officer and Grace Lee as General Counsel. They will report to Prudential Hong Kong Chief Executive Officer Lawrence Lam and will be a member of the Hong Kong Executive Committee. In his new role as Chief Risk Officer, Abhishek will oversee and develop Prudential’s risk and compliance infrastructure to foster a risk-conscious culture that supports business growth alongside effective gatekeeping. In addition to reporting to the Hong Kong CEO, Abhishek will also report to Avnish Kalra, Chief Risk & Compliance Officer at Prudential plc. Abhishek is a highly experienced actuary with over 20 years of international experience in insurance, risk management and financial services advisory. He joins Prudential from KPMG, where he was the Head of Insurance Practice in Hong Kong and Head of APAC Actuarial Practice. In these roles, he led initiatives in regulatory and financial reporting, enterprise-wide risk management and governance, product management, and technology-enabled transformation. He has extensive experience across Asia and Europe stemming from his previous work with leading financial services firms in Hong Kong, Singapore, London, and Mumbai. Abhishek is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a graduate in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. Grace, in her role as General Counsel, is responsible for all legal matters and the Company Secretary function of Prudential, providing strategic legal advice to help Prudential grow business in compliance to the law. Grace brings over 25 years of professional legal experience to the role, including a highly successful career of more than 20 years at Citi, where she most recently served as General Counsel for Greater China, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. She began her career as a commercial and financial lawyer for reputable firms in Canada, where she completed her tertiary education. Grace holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Law from the Osgoode Hall Law School, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business … … Abhishek joined Prudential Hong Kong on 6 January 2025, while Grace joined on 27 January 2025.”
